Local AutoPilot Alternative: Rank and Rent With a Website You Own

How Chad Kimball’s Google Maps program compares with a website-based kit, and why the difference matters.

Local AutoPilot is Chad Kimball’s program for ranking Google Maps listings (Google Business Profiles) and renting the calls to local businesses. It has also been sold as Google Maps Gold, Google Maps Elite and Easy Local Cash. Third-party reviews describe a price ladder: a $9.97 entry course, Google Maps Elite at $997, and coaching at roughly $5,000 to $6,800, sold on a call.

Disclosure: I sell the $37 kit below, so I’m biased. I haven’t bought Local AutoPilot. The facts come from my Local AutoPilot review, which cites every source. Prices change, so confirm on the seller’s site.

Why “website, not listing” matters

Google’s Business Profile rules require a real business at a real location, with a phone number under that business’s direct control. Lead-gen listings for businesses that don’t exist can be suspended, and a suspended listing stops producing calls overnight. A website you own doesn’t carry that risk: it can rank slowly or drop, but nobody can switch it off. The kit doesn’t teach fake listings.

When Local AutoPilot is the better choice

Map results can bring calls faster than a new website. If you specifically want to work with map listings, understand the suspension risk and are fine with a sales call for the higher tiers, Chad says he has been ranking and renting map listings for over a decade.

When the $37 alternative fits better

  • You want an asset you control. A ranked website is yours, built with Claude from one brief.
  • You don’t want an upsell ladder. The kit is the whole method for one site. There’s nothing to upgrade to.
  • You won’t do sales calls. Not to buy, and not to sign a contractor.

What you give up with the $37 kit

No coaching, no community and nobody checking your work. Ranking takes months (my first leads came 1 to 3 months after launch), one of my three sites never ranked, and many leads don’t close. Budget about $60 to $170 beyond the kit for hosting, a domain and tools. If you later want coaching, you’ll know exactly what to ask for. Compare every option in the rank and rent course list.

Frequently asked questions

If you want to stay with map listings, compare other programs in our course list. If you’d rather rank your own website and avoid listing suspensions, the $37 Rank and Rent Starter Kit is built around that.

Third-party reviews report a $9.97 entry course, $997 for Google Maps Elite and about $5,000 to $6,800 for coaching. Prices aren’t fully published, so confirm on the call.

Yes. Google requires a real business at the listed location. Listings that don’t meet the guidelines can be suspended, and they stop producing calls.

Map listings can be faster but carry suspension risk. A website you own is slower to rank but stays under your control.
