GOATs and Unicorns Alternative: Learn Rank and Rent for $37

How Zack Betzsold’s Rank and Rent Mastery compares with a self-serve kit, and when each makes sense.

G.O.A.T.s & Unicorns is Zack Betzsold’s training platform. Its flagship course, Rank and Rent Mastery, is listed at $1,000 in Ippei Kanehara’s May 2026 course list. Google Ads Mastery ($500) and 2 Week Web Pro ($997) are sold separately, so the full stack comes to about $2,500. Zack teaches the classic model: rank a lead-gen site, then rent it to a business. His own sales page says most sites start at $500 to $1,000 a month.

Disclosure: I sell the $37 kit below, so I’m biased. I haven’t bought GOATs and Unicorns. The facts come from my GOATs and Unicorns review, which cites every source. Prices change, so confirm on the seller’s site.

When GOATs and Unicorns is the better choice

If you want a community around you, you’re interested in adding Google Ads later, and you’re comfortable asking a business for a monthly fee, Rank and Rent Mastery sits at a reasonable price for a full course. Ippei’s summary suggests it may suit people with some marketing experience better than complete beginners.

When the $37 alternative fits better

  • You’re testing the model. $37 is a cheaper way to find out whether you like building and ranking sites before spending $1,000 or more.
  • You don’t want to pitch rent. A contractor who has never heard of you will rarely pay monthly up front. Paying 10% only when a job closes is an easier yes.
  • You want to build with AI. The kit includes Claude skills that turn one brief into your service and city pages.

What you give up with the $37 kit

No coaching, no community and nobody checking your work. Ranking takes months (my first leads came 1 to 3 months after launch), one of my three sites never ranked, and many leads don’t close. Budget about $60 to $170 beyond the kit for hosting, a domain and tools. If you later want coaching, you’ll know exactly what to ask for. Compare every option in the rank and rent course list.

$1,000, per Ippei Kanehara’s May 2026 course list. Google Ads Mastery ($500) and 2 Week Web Pro ($997) are extra.

No. The kit gets leads from Google rankings, not ads, so there’s no ad budget. The trade-off is that ranking takes months.
