ALTERNATIVE
When Ippei’s coaching program is worth it, when it isn’t, and the cheaper way to test the same model first.
Ippei Kanehara’s Local SEO Lead Generation program is one of the best-known rank and rent courses. His own pricing page lists $2,700 one-time, $500 a month for 7 months or $300 a month for 14 months, plus $600 a year from year two, and third-party reviews report $4,860 to $10,000+. If you’re searching for an Ippei alternative, it’s usually for one of three reasons: the price, the sales call before you buy, or the fact that the model itself asks you to sell to business owners.
Disclosure: I sell the $37 kit below, so I’m biased. I haven’t bought Ippei’s program. The facts come from my full Ippei review, which links every source.
| Ippei’s program | Rank and Rent Starter Kit | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $2,700 one-time, $500/mo x 7 or $300/mo x 14, then $600/yr | $37 one-time |
| How you buy | Reviews describe a sales call and deposits | Instant download, no call |
| Coaching | Weekly live Zoom, community, site critiques | None. Self-serve files and Claude skills |
| Getting a client | Closing and agency sales training | Post once in a contractor Facebook group, agree by message |
| How you get paid | Monthly rent from a business | 10% of each job the contractor closes |
| Refund policy | None published that I could find | All sales final (digital download) |
Be honest with yourself here. If you learn best with live coaching, want a community to keep you accountable, and can spend $2,700 to $4,200 before your first site earns anything, a coaching program gives you things a $37 download can’t: feedback on your site, answers on a call, and people further ahead than you.
The core process is the same one every rank and rent course teaches: pick a niche and a small city, build a site, rank it for “ready to hire” searches, then find a contractor who wants the leads. The kit gives you a City Picker to choose the town, Claude prompts and skills to build the pages, ranking steps for after launch, written messages for the contractor (no phone), a one-page 10%-of-closed-jobs agreement and a lead tracker. See the no-cold-calling method for how the contractor side works.
No coaching, no community and no one checking your work. Ranking still takes months, plenty of leads won’t close, and results vary. If you try the kit and decide you want coaching, you’ve lost $37 and learned what you need to ask a coach. Compare every option in our rank and rent course list.
It depends on what you want to replace. If it’s the coaching, look at other coaching programs in our course comparison. If it’s the price and the sales calls, a self-serve kit like the $37 Rank and Rent Starter Kit teaches the same core process without either.
Yes. Free YouTube content (including Ippei’s own) covers a lot, and low-cost kits and Udemy courses sit between free and coaching. The $37 Starter Kit is one option, built for people who won’t cold call.
No. There are no calls, no community and no site reviews. It’s files, templates and Claude skills you work through on your own.
His own pricing page lists $2,700 one-time, $500 a month for 7 months or $300 a month for 14 months, plus $600 a year from year two. Third-party reviews report $4,860 to $10,000+, so confirm the current price before paying.
The Rank and Rent Starter Kit: City Picker, Claude site-building skills, the no-cold-calling close and the 10% agreement. No calls, no upsell.
