Jamie Tsang Rank and Rent Review (2026): The Udemy Course, Lecture by Lecture

What Jamie Tsang’s Udemy course costs and covers, what’s out of date since 2024, and who should buy it.

Quick answer

Jamie Tsang’s Rank and Rent Local Lead Generation: The Complete Guide is a Udemy video course: 86 lectures and about 9 hours, rated 4.7 from 1,250 ratings with 44,174 students when I checked on October 13, 2026. It’s last updated January 2024. It sells for a fraction of its list price during Udemy’s frequent sales, and Udemy’s 30-day refund applies. It’s a cheap, solid video introduction, but parts are dated and getting clients means calling businesses.

How this review was written: I have not bought this course. Everything below comes from the course’s public Udemy page (checked October 13, 2026) and from Ippei Kanehara’s review (updated July 7, 2026). I sell a $37 rank and rent kit, which comes up at the end, so judge my bias accordingly.

What’s inside the course?

One live example, built from start to finish.

  • Finding a niche: free tools, competitor checks and a six-factor test for a low-competition niche and city (search demand, backlinks, authority, directory results, content length and review counts).
  • Setting up: domain, WordPress, Search Console and a call tracking number.
  • Building: an Elementor homepage, service pages, about and contact pages.
  • On-page SEO: titles, H1s, internal links, geo-tagged images and page speed.
  • Off-page SEO: six backlink strategies, from guest posts to forum posts.
  • Google Business Profile: setup, verification, citations and reviews.
  • Outsourcing: paying freelancers for the build, content and links.
  • Landing a client: finding local businesses, call scripts, forwarding calls and forms, what to charge and contract templates.

What’s outdated since 2024?

Google Business Profile for lead sites

Google’s guidelines list lead generation companies as ineligible for a Business Profile, so a rank and rent site should rank in the regular results. Treat the profile section as background, not a plan.

Outsourced reviews and links

Google’s policies prohibit reviews that don’t come from real customers, and treat bought links as link schemes. Skip those lectures.

Thin local pages and AI

Google’s spam policies now target near-identical location pages, and AI tools have changed how pages get written. Neither is covered.

Is Jamie Tsang’s course worth it?

On sale, yes, for a beginner who learns best by watching and is comfortable contacting businesses. Use the refund window if it isn’t for you. It’s less useful if your blocker is selling: the client section is a sales process, and it won’t remove the calls.

What are the alternatives?

OptionPriceHow you get the client
Jamie Tsang’s Udemy courseLow on saleCalls and outreach
Rank and Rent ClubFree Skool groupMonthly rent, or pay per lead networks with no client
Rank and Rent Starter Kit (mine)$37 one-timeA Facebook group post and a written agreement: no calls

The kit is files, not 9 hours of video. If you’d rather avoid calls, read rank and rent without cold calling. Every option is compared in the best rank and rent courses guide, and the Jamie Tsang course alternative page compares the two side by side.
